The Lac de Neufont is situated in Saint-Amand-de-Vergt, close to Périgueux and Bergerac. For those who love fishing, there is a dedicated area for trout, carp, and other big fish. The Lac de Neufont is open from April until the end of October for general activities and from March until the end of September for fishing.

The Pombonne Lake, also known as Bergerac Beach, can be found in a public park that spans 55 hectares and offers great opportunities for walking and discovering various natural surroundings. Swimming is allowed and monitored every day starting from 11:30 a.m. until 6:30 p.m., from Monday, July 3rd to Sunday, August 27th, including both dates. Swimming is strictly forbidden out of these dates, and animals are not allowed to bathe. Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times.
The Guinguette is open from Easter to All Saints’ Day, six days a week on the beach, operating from 9 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. During the summer, it is open seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Visitors can enjoy local cuisine and musical performances with an open stage, depending on the scheduled programming.
An organic body of water also contains multiple viewing areas for observing wildlife, specifically birds.

Le Buisson du Cadouin
Buisson Beach in Cadouin is an idyllic spot lined with a 500m stretch of lush green lawns along the banks of the Dordogne. Enjoy stunning views of the wooded cliff while you bask in the sun. It’s a great spot for wading, as the current is gentle, and the descent into the water is gradual. In the summer months, a lifeguard supervises a designated area to keep children safe.
Getting to the beach is easy with two access points: a small car park just after the Pont de Vicq bridge or a larger parking lot with more shade at the end of the adjacent road.

One of the beaches in the Dordogne we visit on a regular basis is Lac Jemaye. The Jemaye pond is a fragile ecosystem, but it serves as a good example of efforts being made to educate the public about the natural world. It showcases the various types of trees found in forests, highlights specific plant life typical of wetlands, particularly reed beds, and draws attention to rare animal species like the European pond turtle. Visitors can also observe abundant birds at the nearby Tuquet Pond observatory.
During the summer season, people can partake in water sports, including swimming and games for kids, at the Grand Étang with trained professionals to monitor safety from mid-June to the end of August. Additionally, there is a designated area for picnics and food services.

Saint-Estephe’s Pond is a remarkable body of water in the region, both in size and beauty. It consists of a 23-hectare pond surrounded by a rural landscape of fields, forests, smaller ponds, and rock formations. This area has been designated as a picturesque heritage site and falls within a Natural Zone of Floristic and Faunistic Interest (ZNIEFF). The reception area provides a Braille booklet and magnetic loop for accessibility and an “audio beach” for swimming for those with blindness or visual impairments. Guests can utilise two hiking chairs called “Handiquatro” to explore the pond. accessible fitness equipment is available, two playgrounds, one suitable for those with limited mobility, and a restaurant are on site.
